Painting and Book Gallery

 Boddhisattva and attendants (Treasure No.1048) from the Koryo dynasty, album of small landscape and figures by Yi Kyong-yun(1545 1611), album of four seasons landscape by Chong Son(1676 1759), old monk under a pine tree by Kim Hong-do(1745 1806?) and other paintings from the Choson dynasty are displayed. Collection of all the sacred writings of Buddhism (the first edition) from the Koryo dynasty, copies of Sutra, and other books from the Koryo dynasty to the Choson dynasty are exhibited. The collection of all the sacred writings of Buddhism is an important piece that enables us to understand the societal development of Buddhism, relationship with Khitan, and political environment of the early Koryo dynasty.
